Prior to joining RELAW, APC, Maryam worked for Deutsche Bank in NYC doing Federal Regulation Remediation. Her role included managing and creating key operating procedures and problem-solving for remedial measures in order to meet regulatory compliance. Maryam also drafted public disclosures; liaised with core lines of business to ensure accurate analysis and reporting under SR 15-18 and the Dodd-Frank Act; conducted reviews and revisions of internal and external communications, including those to the Federal Reserve; interpreted supervisory expectations and regulations; helped identify risks for the bank; and frequently met with managing directors and Board Members.
Prior to working on Wall Street, Maryam was a litigator. She also was an adjunct business law professor for 2 years and served as a Judicial Clerk for a Presiding Judge in Cook County, Chicago. Maryam has worked at various law firms representing insurance companies and corporate clients in litigation defense matters, including general liability and corporate governance. Maryam is an Orange County native and earned her Information and Computer Science degree from University of California, Irvine and her J.D. from Southwestern. She has been the recipient of the SuperLawyers Rising Star Award for 2016, 2017, 2018, 2019 and the AVVO Clients’ Choice Award for 2016.
